  • Where Angels Fear to Tread -- Satiric comedy filters through tragedy in E.M. Forster's turn-of-the-century story of a wealthy English widow (Helen Mirren) who impulsively marries a penniless young Italian (Giovanni(G) uidelli) against the wishes of her in-laws. As directed by Charles Sturridge, the cultural clash between fiery Italian and straightlaced Britons affords several well-observed character studies. Brief violence.(A-II) (PG) ( 1992 )
