Toy, The -- French comedy about the spoiled 10-year-old son of a tyrannical tycoon (Michel Bouquet) who, told he can have any toy he wants in a store owned by his father, points to a hapless writer in his father's employ. The writer (Pierre Richard) goes along with the joke, develops a warm relationship with the boy and helps bring about the father's comeuppance. Mild, innoucous entertainment. (A-II) (PG) ( 1979 )
