  • Touch of Class, A -- London-based American executive (George Segal) and a British career woman (Glenda Jackson) meet, a love affair ensues and then the man's vacationing wife, kids, and in-laws return unexpectedly bringing all the inevitable and predicatable complications that follow. Director Melvin Frank's central problem is that his stars don't seem very comfortable as a romantic couple, a feeling many will share about a comedy whose theme is adultery. Frank tries to keep it light and witty but, after a tasteless bedroom scene, the froth goes flat and only a stale aftertaste remains. Some scatological epithets. (A-III) (PG) ( 1973 )
