  • Tora! Tora! Tora! -- Huge, sprawling and occasionally unfocused wartime epic based on the events leading up to the surprise Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. Director Richard Fleischer alternates American and Japanese points of view as the one side goes about its daily routines unsuspecting the deadly assault that the other side is preparing. The Japanese segments are the more interesting in showing less known aspects of a strategy that some realized would start an unwinnable war. (A-I) (G) ( 1970 )
