Too Late the Hero -- Routine World War II movie set on a small Pacific island where an Allied patrol (notably Cliff Robertson and Michael Caine) makes its way through the jungle to blow up a Japanese radio transmitter, then returns back to base. Director Robert Aldrich offers the usual amount of bloody violence in glossy color but all except hardened action buffs will find it disappointing. Some hard-edged wartime violence.
