  • Too Late Blues -- Ambitious jazz bandleader (Bobby Darrin) falls for a novice singer (Stella Stevens), goes haywire when they break up and leaves the band cold to go it alone, though his envious agent (Everett Chambers) sets him up for a fall. Directed by John Cassavetes, the cameraderie between the musicians and their circle makes a convincing background for a story which has many fine scenes but never quite jells as a dramatic whole. Some stylized violence, notably a drunken brawl, and sexual situations. (A-III) (br) ( 1962 )
