  • Too Beautiful for You -- Wealthy Frenchman (Gerard Depardieu) shocks his beautiful wife (Carole Bouquet) and their friends by falling madly in love with a plain, plump woman (Josiane Balasko). Director Bertrand Blier twists the cliches of marital infidelity and French film convention with this serio-comic farce that mixes fantasy with reality and raises but does not answer philosophical questions about love, infidelity and the nature of sexual attraction. Subtitles. Some sexually explicit dialogue. (A-IV) (R) ( 1990 )

    These movies have been evaluated for artistic merit and moral suitability by the media reviewing division of Catholic News Service. The reviews include the CNS rating, the Motion Picture Association of America rating, and a brief synopsis of the movie.

    The classifications are as follows:

    A-I -- general patronage;
    A-II -- adults and adolescents;
    A-III -- adults;
    L -- limited adult audience, films whose problematic content many adults would find troubling. L replaces the previous classification, A-IV.
