  • Tomb of Ligeia, The -- Moody chills from the Edgar Allan Poe story in which a morose widower (Vincent Price) in Victorian England leaves off mourning his late wife (Elizabeth Shepherd) to wed a bright young lady (also Shepherd) who soon fears the first wife's unearthly presence in the form of a black cat. Directed by Roger Corman, the eerie tale of hypnotism and the undead doesn't quite hold together but the nighttime antics in the widower's creepy old abbey certainly hold attention. Supernatural menace. (A-II) (br) ( 1965 )
