  • Stage Door Canteen -- Patriotic World War II souvenir with a multitude of show business personalities serving meals and entertaining troops on leave in New York City. Directed by Frank Borzage, a lame romance between a soldier and a canteen hostess keeps getting in the way of the bands, singers, walk-ons and star turns notably by Edgar Bergen, Ray Bolger and Gypsy Rose Lee in a mock strip tease.     L -- limited adult audience, films whose problematic content many adults would find troubling. L replaces the previous classification, A-IV.
    O -- morally offensive.
