  • Reaching for the Moon -- Slack Depression-era comedy about a financial tycoon (Douglas Fairbanks) who pursues a flighty socialite (Bebe Daniels) on an England-bound liner, then learns she's engaged and he's been wiped out on Wall Street. Directed by Edmund Goulding, Fairbanks flounders in a flat role that invites little sympathy and offers few opportunities for his athletic talents, except some silly pranks after drinking an especially potent cocktail. Sexual situations and innunedoes. (A-III) (br) ( 1931 )
