  • Razor in the Flesh -- Brazilian drama about a prostitute tormented by her pimp who in turn is taunted by a homosexual until the roles are reversed and attacker becomes victim and the story becomes a parable about the interchangeable roles of oppressor and oppressed. Directed by Braz Chediak, the movie is about characters living at the last extremities of humanity, vividly reacting with the desperation of those who can only hurt others and themselves because they have nothing left to hope for. As a reminder of our common human fraility, it cuts to the bone. (A-IV) (nr) ( 1974 )
