  • My Cousin Rachel -- Intriguing psychological puzzler from the Daphne du Maurier story about a young Englishman (Richard Burton) who falls in love with an appealing but enigmatic woman (Olivia de Havilland), then comes to fear she is trying to kill him. Director Henry Koster evokes a suitably eerie atmosphere from the Victorian setting on the rugged Cornish coast, but the ambiguous treatment of the title character becomes tiresome, then concludes disappointingly with many loose ends. Romantic complications and unanswered questions. (A-II) (br) ( 1952 )
