  • Murder, He Says -- Eccentric comedy in which an opinion pollster (Fred MacMurray) is forcefully detained by a murderous family of hayseeds headed by a wacky inventor (Porter Hall) and his bullwhip-wielding wife (Marjorie Main) as they search for a fortune hidden in a backwoods house. Though the plot is as nonsensical as the silly rhyme holding the secret to the treasure, director George Marshall has a lot of fun with the zany characters and screwball situations. Comic violence and mild romance. (A-II) (br) ( 1945 )
