  • Murder at 1600 -- Murky thriller in which a police detective (Wesley Snipes) and a Secret Service agent (Diane Lane) put their lives and careers at risk while trying to expose the cover-up over a young woman's murder in the White House. Directed by Dwight Little, it takes some elaborate plotting to set up the sinister situation but then the story gives way to increasingly formula action and unconvincing suspense. Shadowy bedroom scene with fleeting nudity, intermittent violence, occasional profanity and some rough language. (A-III) (R) ( 1997 )
