  • List of Adrian Messenger, The -- Gimmicky murder mystery in which a retired British spy (George C. Scott) seeks a killer whose victims were all survivors of a Japanese P.O.W. camp in Burma where one of them turned traitor. Directed by John Huston, the movie has a good cast (including Kirk Douglas, Clive Brook and Dana Wynter) with the killer masked in various disguises which are as easy to see through as those sported by Robert Mitchum, Burt Lancaster, Frank Sinatra and Tony Curtis in campy cameo roles. Though stylized, the violence makes it unlikely children's fare. (A-I) (br) ( 1963 )
