  • Limbo -- Sincere tearjerker based on the stateside emotional and financial hardships of a group of Vietnam POW-MIA wives (Kathleen Nolan, Katherine Justice and Kate Jackson). Despite its obvious melodrama, director Mark Robson makes the situation ring true much of the time by showing the human side of women trying to keep their family and emotional lives intact without any certainty about their husbands or the future. Nolan's performance, strong yet vulnerable, is worth seeing. Mature themes. (A-III) (PG) ( 1972 )

    These movies have been evaluated for artistic merit and moral suitability by the media reviewing division of Catholic News Service. The reviews include the CNS rating, the Motion Picture Association of America rating, and a brief synopsis of the movie.

    A-I -- general patronage;
    A-II -- adults and adolescents;
    A-III -- adults;
    L -- limited adult audience, films whose problematic content many adults would find troubling. L replaces the previous classification, A-IV.
