  • Life of Riley, The -- Screen version of a popular radio comedy series about a working-class family headed by a good-hearted but dim-witted factory worker (William Bendix) whose constant mixups are smoothed over by his sage wife (Meg Randall). Written, produced and directed by Irving Brecher, the plot revolves around Riley's money problems and the romantic concerns of his college-age daughter (Rosemary DeCamp). Still some fun, despite dated family stereotypes. (A-I) (br) ( 1948 )
