  • Fortune and Men's Eyes -- Jailed on a minor narcotics rap, a young man (Wendell Burton) in fear of homosexual assault by the other prisoners lets a prison tough (Zooey Hall) protect him in return for exclusive rights to his body and eventually he himself becomes one of the brutalizers that he had once so feared. Directed by Harvey Hart, the movie examines homosexuality in prison not only as a sexual release but as a means of wielding power. The treatment, however, is heavy-handed to the point of exploiting an important subject. (O) (R) ( 1971 )
