  • Forbidden Quest, The -- Drama in which a documentary filmmaker interviews an aged Irish sailor (Joseph O'Conor) who reveals what became of his ill-fated crewmates, all thought to be lost on the Hollandia's 1905-06 voyage from Norway to the South Pole. Dutch writer-director Peter Delpeut creates an atmosphere of mystery and suspense in telling the fictional story of a doomed ship by marrying actual Antarctic exploration footage from the early 20th century to the old salt's crusty tale of a perilous and deadly voyage. Much menace and the shooting of a bear. (A-II) (nr) ( 1994 )
