Extremities -- A woman (Farrah Fawcett) is the target of a sadistic rapist (James Russo) whom she manages to restrain and molest in turn. Film p1ays upon the vulnerability of women in a man's world and suggests that fighting back is an essential survival tactic. It concludes somewhat weakly that justice must be tempered with mercy in spite of possible further endangerment. Instead of being thought-provoking, the film brutalizes the viewer with explicit scenes of sadism, violence and foul language. (O) (R) ( 1986 )
