Day That Shook the World, The -- Yugoslavian re-creation of the 1914 assassination of the Archduke Ferdinand and his wife (Christopher Plummer and Florinda Bolkan) at Sarajevo, the tragic incident that triggered World War I. Director Veliko Bulajic captures the period atmosphere and historical background but fails to bring its characters to life, the result being merely a colorful but unmoving pageant.
