Day of the Dolphin, The -- Dedicated scientist George C. Scott, privately funded and working in secret, has begun teaching a dolphin to talk. What he doesn't know is that he and the dolphin are being used by a mysterious clique of powerful officials in an assassination attempt. Director Mike Nichols' melodramatic plot about the corruption of the innocent is only intermittently interesting but at least the movie serves as a reminder of the accelerated dangers of modern science.
